Ms. Freund obtained her Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis in 2001.  While in law school, Ms. Freund participated in Moot Court, Trial Advocacy Competition and Client Counseling Competition.  She also spent a summer in France studying European Union law and the laws of various European nations.   

Ms. Freund graduated from Purdue University in 1998, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key National Honor Society, Psi Chi, and Alpha Kappa Delta.  During her undergraduate studies, she was an intern for the Indiana House of Representatives and volunteered for Legal Services. 

Before arriving in San Diego, Ms. Freund lived in Indianapolis, where she was born and raised. She practiced in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith, and subrogation, and personal injury, automobile liability and premises liability at private firms.  She was also a certified civil mediator in Indiana.  

Ms. Freund came to be a resident of San Diego in 2006 due to her husband’s Naval career, but upon arriving, they have decided that San Diego is a great place to live, work and play and are excited to call it their permanent home.
